Finding Equilibrium
I am in a distinctly different state of mind tonight. I've just started my first total goof-off stress-free vacation in a dog's age, and I started it with a totally unexpected feeling of total joy. Timing is everything, and I guess this was exactly the right time, or at least not a moment too soon. I'd like to thank the Academy, and I'd like to thank everyone who made this moment possible.
My brain seems to want a short vacation too. I'd like to hear from anyone who bothers to read this blog. Say whatever is on your mind, or play my word association game. I'm picking an old-favorite basic for this one.
What does the word "broom" suggest to you?
For me, lacking any other context, it will always suggest The List of Adrian Messenger.
There's no accounting for what will stick in your brain.
The movie is good too. Check out the cast and some of the roles they played!

Brooms mean a fresh start, a clean surface, a new beginning. I think of clearing out the cobwebs and junk, getting down to what is real and true and honest, finding the heart of things.
I guess I am in a really good mood at the moment too. Must be something in the air.
:-)
Our brains can always use a bit of a vacation...at least from the millions of things we ask them to absorb that prevent us sometimes from focusing on the stuff we really need to.
Glad to hear you're heading out on a goof-off vacation, hope it's good for your soul and your brain.
Broom: yeah, I guess the sweeping away of all the dirt and accumulated crap, hopefully not to just be replaced by more of the same.
Have a good one and rejoice in that joy!
I think AFROMAN..
I was going to clean up my room,
but then I got high..
No I think witches! Wizard of OZ..My little pretty hehehehehee!
No, sweeping all of the F'n elm leaves off of the deck for a month!!
In high school we would always say He walks like he has a broomstick up his ass? I can't remember why .
Wow that is quite the cast? I have never seen it, I must check it out, must be on Turner Classics eh?
This is proceeding well. I think homo escapions is on to me. I chose the word "broom" because there are so many associations for such a humble tool. Ever see one in a photo, lashed to the radio mast of a WWII submarine? The list goes on.
Or the classic "stick a broom up my ass and I'll sweep the floor while I'm at it" of course.
Feels like that a lot of the time. I hope the vaca is good. I think I will have to try that sometime, myself. I can't quite remember what relaxation feels like...
ILD
"Broom" makes me think of "zoom" which makes me think of children's public television programming which makes me think of Sesame Street, and that reminds me of how much I always liked Ernie and Bert.
Now I want a cookie. (I also liked the Cookie Monster.)
Just my brain's way of checking in on your vacation...
vroom vroom vroom 'round the room
broom doom gloom 'shroom
Now go and hide that in the back of the closet - broom closet. (Of course!)
Bahhhh and dog diggity damn - Wouldn't you know it but brilliant Homo Escapeons already posted my first images ... save for the AFROMAN
stumbled in - while also enjoying the first day of summer with my first lazy holiday in too many months - and found your fab fun game - & being a luvr of words, I can't help but to go back to my play ...
vroom vroom vroom 'round the room
ride the stick - an inventing child's car
move the broom for doom and gloom of 'shroom - hide with the stick from hate's invention
but then again ...
move the broom, hide the doom, 'scape the gloom, enjoy the 'shroom - ahhh man, must I explain? I'm on vacation too!
Brooms... to be honest with you, the only thing that comes to mind is "stuff a broom up your ass". It really doesn't make me think of anything else.
